NICS – No Response

Question: We utilize the NICS eCheck system. We receive a number of NTNs that do not receive a response. We encounter these as “open” status that never receive a proceed or deny. Most never even hit a delay status. We need to know if we should release the firearm after the Brady transfer date or what we should do. We have asked buyers to wait the 30 days until we receive resolution but we have experienced a good number of them not receiving any resolution. We have lost considerable business by not transferring the firearms without an answer from NICS.
